Creamy Pasta with Mushrooms

This creamy mushroom pasta recipe is a simple dish with tons of flavor. An easy and flavorful creamy sauce, your favorite pasta noodles and a few simple spices come together to make an easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow onion diced
  • 2 cups shiitake mushroom chopped
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 cup uncooked pasta
  • 1/2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to directions on box. When done, drain pasta water except leaving about 1/8 cup left in pot. Set aside.
  • Heat medium sized pan over medium heat and add olive oil, onion and mushrooms. Add black pepper and garlic powder and sauté for a couple of minutes or until translucent.
  • In the pot with pasta, add mushroom and onion mixture, butter and grated parmesan.
  • Stir together for another two minutes until pasta looks creamy and cheese has melted.
