Ground Turkey and Rice

These Ground Turkey and Rice bowls are made in one pan, high protein and ready in less than 20 minutes. Flavored with simple spices, coconut aminos and sesame oil, this quick meal makes weeknight dinners a breeze.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice (jasmine rice or short-grain preferred)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger minced
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Optional Toppings

  • Sesame Seeds
  • Chili Oil
  • Hot Sauce
  • Green Onion
  • Pickled Onions
  • Fried Egg
  • Kimchi

Instructions

  • Cook rice according to package instructions.
  • Heat a large rice skillet with olive oil over medium high heat. Add the ground turkey, salt, black pepper, and onion powder and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it into small pieces and stirring occasionally.
  • Add to pan, garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, and sesame oil and cook for 1 to 2 more minutes.
  • Add a heaping spoonful of rice into a bowl then top with the turkey mixture. Add any optional toppings you desire and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use any type of ground meat.
  • Add your favorite toppings to make this bowl your own.
