Quick and Easy 3 Ingredient Blueberry Yogurt Parfait
There’s something about the combo of yogurt, berries and a little honey that never gets old. I could eat this blueberry yogurt for breakfast every morning and be totally content.
For this parfait, I used plain full fat yogurt, and a homemade fresh blueberry and honey compote. For myself, I add granola for an extra crunch and kept it plain for my toddler.
Heating the blueberries and honey together releases the natural fruit juice of the blueberries and makes the most wonderfully flavorful and thick blueberry puree. Mixed with the creamy texture of plain Greek yogurt, this healthy snack feels more like a dessert.
This yogurt recipe has to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before eating. Perfect time to go for a run, sit and relax or tend to the piles of laundry staring at you. I vote option 1 or 2, laundry isn’t going anywhere.
Regardless, you’ll have a delicious blueberry yogurt to look forward to after 30 minutes or in the morning for an easy grab and go breakfast.

- If using fresh blueberries, wash them thoroughly. If using frozen blueberries, let them thaw.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries and honey (or maple syrup) over medium heat.
- Cook the blueberries, stirring occasionally, until they release their juices and the mixture thickens into a compote. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In small mason jars or serving cups with lids, alternate layers of yogurt and blueberry compote. Start with a layer of yogurt at the bottom, add a spoonful of blueberry compote, and repeat until you reach the top. Top with flaxseed if using.
- Place the assembled blueberry yogurt in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
🪄 Tips and Tricks
- For babies less than a year old, do not use honey. Instead, make the blueberry compote with pure maple syrup.
- Do not serve babies younger than 12 months old nuts as they cannot chew them properly. For crunch, add chia seeds.
🗒 Substitutions
- Any Greek yogurt, whole milk yogurt, or dairy-free yogurt.
- Sub blueberries for raspberries, blackberries or strawberries.
- Add flaxseed, granola or nuts for a nice crunch.
- Use any natural sweeteners: date syrup, maple syrup, or agave syrup. Keep in mind some of these have a specific taste and may change the flavor of your compote.
🗒 What to Serve with Blueberry Yogurt
- Top with more real fruit, lemon juice or a chocolate drizzle, if you want to be really fancy.
- If you’re sad you’re missing out on veggies, add a Broccoli Egg Muffin to the mix. Problem solved!
