Kimchi is delicious and if you haven’t tried it, you absolutely must. Kimchi is salted and fermented vegetables, usually cabbage based.
Each batch of kimchi has its own flavor profile, usually a mix of sweet, salty and acidic with a little kick of spice. Sometimes we rinse our kimchi before adding it to our burgers, so you can adjust your level of spice.
The mix of ground beef and pork makes the juiciest burgers, ever. Because beef and pork are fatty, these burgers are rich and flavorful without having to add too many seasonings or spices.
Topped with kimchi, spicy mayo and your favorite toppings, you have a great burger that’s delicious, easy to make and totally unique.

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the kimchi and sesame oil then sauté for about 2 minutes. Set kimchi aside.
- Next, cook burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Evenly distribute the sautéed kimchi on top of the burger patties then top with a slice of cheese, if you’re using. Cover pan with a lid for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until the cheese has melted.
- In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha to make a spicy aioli.
- Toast buns lightly and spread spicy aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Top bun with burger patty then top with the other half of the bun. Enjoy immediately.
🪄 Tips and Tricks
- Do not over-mix your burger patties. Over-mixing can make the meat tough.
- Grill burgers or use a grill pan for a charcoal burger flavor.
- Choose a non-spicy kimchi and rinse with water if serving to children. If local grocery stores don’t sell what you need, go to a Korean market. They’ll have tons!
🗒 Substitutions
