Quick and Easy Steak Fried Rice

You guys know I have a thing for fried rice. From pork belly fried rice to bulgogi beef fried rice to tuna fried rice, I’ve done it all. Except for one of my favorites. Steak fried rice!
Your favorite restaurant won’t hold a candle to this steak fried rice recipe. Made with day-old rice for the perfect crisp, tender cuts of beef and an authentic flavor, this rice that will send your taste buds to the next level of food happiness.
This fried rice is such an easy recipe to throw together when you’re busy. It’s ready in less than 20 minutes and made in one pan. It doesn’t get any better than that, friends.

Sirloin Steak
Olive Oil or Butter
Onion
Garlic Cloves
Frozen Mixed Vegetables: peas, corn and carrots
Cooked Jasmine Rice: day old preferred
Large Eggs
Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
Sesame Oil

👩🍳 How to Make Steak Fried Rice
- Season the diced sirloin steak bites with salt and pepper.
- Add 1 tbsp olive oil or butter to a large wok or large skillet and heat on high heat. When wok is heated, add steak and cook for 2-4 minutes, or to desired doneness. Avoid over-cooking. Remove from wok and set aside on another plate.
- In the same wok, add remaining olive oil or butter then cook onion, garlic, and frozen mixed vegetables for 1-2 minutes, or until softened.
- Add cooked rice and steak back into wok and stir. Add soy sauce and sesame oil and fold the rice to combine all ingredients.
- Create a hole or nest in middle of wok and crack two eggs into wok. Break the yolk and scramble egg. Stir and let it cook for about a minute. Add additional soy sauce if you’d like.
- Remove fried rice from heat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve and enjoy immediately.

- Use day old, cold white rice for the best end result.
- For toddlers and babies depending on their age, cut the steak into very small pieces or leave in larger chunks.

This recipe is dairy-free if you use olive oil in place of butter. For gluten-free, use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
I always use short grain rice or Jasmine rice for fried rice. Any type of rice works as long as you don’t use fresh rice. You want day old cold rice that’s had a chance to dry out. This prevents the dish from being soggy. Cook the rice the day before and the next day, you’ll have perfect fried rice.
I use sirloin because it’s a little more tender. You can also use flank steak, if desired.
