👩🍳 How to Make Air Fryer Egg Bites
- Preheat your air fryer to 340°F.
- In a blender, combine eggs, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined. (If you don’t have blender, you may also use a hand mixer)
- Lightly grease the cavities of a silicone egg mold or silicone muffin cups with cooking spray.
- Pour egg mixture evenly into the greased molds, filling each about 3/4 full.
- If using ham or bacon, distribute the diced ham or crumbled bacon evenly among the egg-filled molds. Top with shredded cheese.
- Place the filled molds in the air fryer basket, making sure there is some space between each mold.
- Cook in the air fryer for about 12-14 minutes or until the egg bites are set and slightly golden on top. You may need to adjust the time based on your specific air fryer model.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the egg bites from the molds. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
🪄 Tips and Tricks
- These are great for BLW. If serving to babies, I suggest serving without the meat or make sure to cut the meat very small.
- Every air fryer is different and the cook time can vary. Check after 10 minutes. Egg cups should be set and slightly golden brown.
🗒 Substitutions
- Use egg whites only or a mixture of whole eggs and egg whites. 2 egg whites = 1 whole egg.
- Use feta cheese, goat cheese or mozzarella in place of cheddar.
- Add breakfast sausage, cooked bacon or cooked ham.
- Add bell pepper, mushrooms, chopped spinach or green onions. Be sure to cut them very small so the egg cups stay intact.
🗒 Best served with
- Side of hash browns, Croissant Waffles or Apple and Sweet Potato Hash.
👝 How to Store Leftovers
These reheat well, making them a great meal-prep option. Store leftover egg bites in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave.
Freeze your egg muffins in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag up to 3 months. Either store them separately or with parchment paper in between each one so they don’t stick together. Reheat in an air fryer for about 4 minutes or let them defrost on their own for about 3 hours.
🤔 Common Questions
Yes!
You can. The reason these are so yummy and creamy is from the cottage cheese. You would need to omit that, or find an alternative, as well as omit the cheese. They will still be good, they just won’t be as rich.
