What are Cream Cheese Roll Ups?

Cream cheese roll ups is the easiest snack a parent could ever make. The ingredients are simple and minimal and can be customizable to everyone’s liking. These make a great snack for toddlers or lunch to pack since it can be served cold.

Ingredients and substitutions

  • Tortilla – I like to use almond flour tortillas but you can use flour or other gluten free tortillas as well
  • Cream cheese – I like to use chive flavored cream cheese but you may use whatever flavor you like. If you are dairy free, use dairy free cream cheese by brands like Kite Hill
  • Raspberries – you can use frozen raspberries but it holds more moisture so I it causes it to be slightly soggy. I like to use fresh organic raspberries
  • Avocado oil spray – you may use avocado oil, butter, or olive oil

Recipe Variations

Here are other variations for you to try:

  • Cucumber and cream cheese – so refreshing and light, these would make a delicious appetizer as well
  • Ham, cheese, and cream cheese – would make a great daycare lunch
  • Turkey, spinach, and cream cheese – another great lunch idea for daycare or a meal for a tailgate
  • Smoked salmon, red onion, and cream cheese – lox bagel in tortilla roll up form YUM!
  • Roasted red peppers, arugula, and cream cheese – the flavor combo of these ingredients are amazing and would make another great appetizer

How to make Cream Cheese Roll Ups

  1. On a piece of tortilla, spread cream cheese across the middle.
  2. Lay the raspberries evenly on top of the cream cheese spread.
  3. Holding one end of the tortilla, roll to the other end tightly. Add a tiny bit of cream cheese at the end of the roll so it acts as glue.
  4. Coat a pan with avocado oil spray and set on medium-high heat. Place roll in the pan and let it cook to a golden brown, about one minute. Flip then cook until the other side is brown.
  5. Remove from pan then slice into bite sized pieces. Enjoy.

How to serve and store

The cream cheese roll ups can be served by itself as a snack or as a light lunch for any of the other variations.

Store in an airtight glass container for up to 2 days in fridge. You may eat cold or can reheat over pan again, or in microwave for a few seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you make this for meal prep? It comes together in less than 5 minutes that I do not think you need to batch make these cream cheese roll ups ahead of time. I also think it will get soggy from raspberries if made ahead of time.
  • Can these be served cold or warm? Yes! I like to heat the roll ups used with almond flour tortillas but not the flour tortillas but I think that is just personal preference. Nevertheless, both ways are delicious!
  • Can you freeze the roll ups? I would not recommend doing so because it will most likely be soggy when thawed.
