Crispy Seasoned Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges
Homemade wedges, the healthy way? Sign. Me. Up.
I LOVE my air fryer. There’s been no need for deep frying since I invested in one these machines and I could not be happier. With just a few simple ingredients, you’ll have crispy sweet potato wedges that taste just like a fast food restaurant but with way less oil and in way less time than baking.
I love making these into wedges because they’re a little thicker than your average french fries with crispy edges and a soft fluffy inside. Add your favorite dipping sauce and you have the perfect snack or side dish.

👩🍳 How to Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Scrub the sweet potatoes well and cut them into evenly-sized wedges.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the wedges are well coated with the seasoning.
- Place the seasoned sweet potato wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook for about 15-20 minutes. Give the basket a little shake halfway through. Cook until the wedges are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
- Use tongs to remove the sweet potato wedges from the air fryer and serve them hot.
🪄 Tips and Tricks
- Make sure to wash your sweet potatoes very well to remove all dirt.
- Using a sharp knife and a cutting board, cut the potatoes as evenly as possible. This will ensure an even cook and prevent smaller slices from burning. Cut into thin wedges or thick wedges, depending on preference.
- I do not remove the skin of my potatoes, because I love the taste. If serving to babies, you can peel the skin to make it easier for them to chew, but not necessary.
🗒 Substitutions
- Use avocado oil in place of olive oil.
- Use bagel seasoning or any favorite spice blend.
🗒 Best served with
- Serve these with your favorite French fry sauce, such as: ranch dressing, ketchup or bbq sauce.
- Since I already have my air fryer out, I like to serve these with Air Fryer Broccoli Parmesan and Air Fryer Bison Meatballs, for a complete meal.
👝 How to Store Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Return to air fryer to heat them back so they become crispy again.
